Updating your AFS record for ammo purchases

One of the most common issues California shooters run into when buying ammo is a mismatch in their Automated Firearms System (AFS) record. If the state’s records don’t show a firearm registered to your current name and address, your ammo eligibility check can fail even when you’re otherwise allowed to own and possess firearms.
