LAX Ammunition Store in San Diego front

The operator behind the counter

Over a decade in the ammo world.

  • Warehouse – learning ammo from the ground up.

  • Cashier & Sales – answering daily questions at the counter.

  • Manager & Regional Manager – running teams and multiple locations across SoCal.

  • Partner – helping grow the LAX brand as it expanded.

  • Owner, LAX Ammo San Diego – taking over the SD store instead of letting it close.

Why keep this place alive?

When the corporate side decided to close stores and focus elsewhere, the easy play was to clock out and move on.

William did the opposite. He took over the San Diego location to:

Support local customers and the Second Amendment.

Keep a customer-service-first ammo shop in Kearny Mesa.

Make sure new shooters, women, older customers, and non-English speakers get the same patience and clarity as anyone else.

  • At minimum, a valid California ID. Depending on your situation, you may also need proof of residency or documentation that you have a firearm registered in the state. See our How Buying Ammo Works page for details, or call us before you come in.

  • Age requirements depend on the type of ammo and firearm you own, and California law changes over time. Reach out and we can explain what applies to your situation and point you to the latest official rules.

  • We focus on ammunition and accessories. Our goal is to be the most efficient, customer-friendly ammo house in San Diego.

  • By law, ammo sales are generally final. We do stand behind defective ammo from manufacturers on a case-by-case basis if it’s in the same condition it left the store. See our Policies page for details.

  • No returns on opened products. Unopened items may usually be returned until the end of the calendar month of purchase with the original receipt.

  • We usually respond to emails and contact forms within a couple of hours during business hours. Calls and texts are answered as quickly as possible while we’re open.
